Hi abbybob,

Sorry for the slow reply on this, your post escaped my sensors for a while.

After a little bit of searching, it looks like the folder '/Users/abbybob/Documents/EnVision' isn't being created in time to create the log file (/Users/abbybob/Documents should already exist). A fix for this will be available in the next version. In the mean time, If you create the Documents/EnVision directory yourself then you should be all set.

Hi Tom5441,

v1.2.21 is the latest version. There are still some issues remaining in EnVision and we are working hard to resolve them. Some of the issues are still a little elusive so if you are wiling to share your experiences with us it will really help us track them down and eliminate them.

One easy to spot crash is that in v1.2.21 the camera tool does not open. This issue has been resolved and will be available in the next release.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. Thank you very much for the feedback and we hope that your EnVision experiance gets better from here.

The next version of EnVision will be available at the latest on Aug 5th, though we are considering releasing a intermediary version for some of the recent issues.

Hi abbybob,

Today we released EnVision v1.2.23 that addresses the EnVision folder not being created on startup. If you have not created the folder yourself yet I suggest you go to our website (http://www.box5software.com/demo.html) and download a fresh copy. If you have already created it and you are able to launch the program then you will get a prompt to update the next time you open it.

Have a great day!

I just started using the Mac Version on my MacBook Air. In the last two days, the program has quit on me at least 6 times. Fortunately, I have been able to recover most of the work I had done, but it is still very irritating. I am wondering if this is an isolated incident, or if not, if there is a patch or update in the offing? So far, I have not noticed a pattern to when this happens, but I will watch out for one.

Hi kbbandman,

Recently we have had reports of random crashes so you are not alone. We are currently deep into a thorough debugging session and we hope to clean up a lot of these errors very soon.

We are very embarrassed about this and we hope that it hasn't caused you too much inconvenience. Until the software is a little more stable, make sure to save often. If you do come across a pattern definitely let us know, it could help speed this process along.

Hello,

I recently purchased Envision and downloaded all of the latest updates. I worked for several hours with the software and saved what I was working on. However, whenever I attempt to open the drill I was working on, I get a message saying:

"An Error occurred while trying to load this file
Error code 8: input stream error"

What can be done to ensure that this doesn't happen? I would like to get all of my work back, if possible.

-Dana

Hi Dana,

We handled your issue through email already but I would like to answer your question anyway to help out anyone else who might be in this situation.

In v1.3.10 a bug was introduced that saved some wrong information for part of the file. EnVision was expecting the right information when loading so it caused the file to be unloadable. You would then see the message that Dana got: "Error code 8: input stream error".

v1.3.11 resolves this issue but any files that you saved in v1.3.10 will still be unloadable. If this is happening to you, you can email the .drl file to contact@box5software.com and we can remove the bad data and send you back a full working file.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you and Dana, we are glad that we got you back up and running.

Cheers,

William
