Updating software
Updating software
I see there is a new version, but I don't seem to be able to download. I am prompted when I open the software, but I when I click yes my web browser opens to http://www.box5software.com/product/pro ... d-download.
Re: Updating software
Hi bis4brass,
This is expected behaviour. There was a bug in the Mac version of EnVision which resulted in an endless update loop. The solution is to download the "demo" version of EnVision from the link that you posted and install it on top of your existing version. Your drill and license will all remain intact as they are stored in a separate location from the main installation files in your App directory.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Have a great day!

Re: Updating software
I have been trying to update to 1.8.11. Currently, I still have the 1.7.30 but is crashing randomly and very annoying as you can imagine. I have been unsuccessful in trying to update to a newer version. So, everytime that I open the program it asks if I want to update, as you probably already know, it won't! I searched the forum and found an old post that recommends downloading the demo "on top" of the version that I have. Haven't been able to do that either. What do I do? I have work to that needs to be completed asap. BTW, it seems like the envision website needs attention.
Re: Updating software
Hi bdrumsanchez,
I'm sorry I didn't see this post earlier, hopefully you have been able to get up and running since you posted it. But if you haven't then what you are describing seems like an issue where EnVision wasn't able to install correctly because of permissions issues. Please try manually deleting the installed version of EnVision from the Applications folder before downloading and installing the new version from the website.
Let me know how this goes for you and we can go from there.

Re: Updating software
I have uninstalled. It still will not let me download from the website. Here is a pic of my screen. It is stuck, with no progress!

Re: Updating software
Oh I did not realize that the website was broken like this. Use this link to download 1.8.11.
https://box5software.s3.amazonaws.com/E ... 1.8.11.pkg
If you are on MacOS Catalina or later you should use 1.8.16

Re: Updating software
So, apparently it doesn't work with Chrome. I tried Safari and Lo and Behold it worked! I was able to get the desired version and continue working. I'll post any problems if they arise. Thanks for your help.
Re: Updating software
Okay great, thank you for the update
Re: Updating software
I have fixed the issue on Chrome, thank you again for the report.
